Colorbond Flashings
Flashings are where metal roofs fail. Not in the middle of a sheet run, but at the junctions: roof to wall, roof to parapet, around penetrations, at the rake and the ridge. Get the flashing wrong and the rest of the roof is irrelevant.
HMR Supplies folds Colorbond flashings at Revesby, in the colour and gauge your job actually needs, from either a standard profile or your own drawing. If you can draw it, we can fold it.

Quality roof flashings for high-performance building protection
Roof flashings are a critical yet often overlooked element of water management. While larger panels handle the majority of runoff, flashings are the essential components that protect vulnerable junctions where metal roofing products meet walls, chimneys or other roof penetrations.
At HMR Supplies, we manufacture precision flashings that create a watertight barrier at these critical intersections, preventing the leaks and moisture infiltration that often lead to rot and structural damage.
Precision-engineered standard and custom profiles
We understand that no two builds are identical, which is why we offer a versatile range of profiles to suit any requirement. From standard apron and ridge flashings to bespoke geometries designed to your exact drawings, our team provides the technical flexibility you need. Whether you require a traditional look or a unique architectural detail, we can manufacture metal roofing products that fit perfectly.

The Standard Colorbond Flashing Profiles We Roll
| Profile | Where It Goes | Product Page |
|---|---|---|
| Apron flashing | Roof to wall abutment, low side | Apron flashings |
| Barge capping | Raked gable edge | Barge cappings |
| Ridge flashing | Apex of the roof | Ridge flashings |
| Corner flashing | External and internal cladding returns | Corner flashings |
| Parapet capping | Top of a parapet wall | Parapet capping |
| Sill flashing | Under window and door openings | Sill flashings |
| Foot mould | Bottom edge of the sheet run | Foot moulds |
| Pole plate flashing | Where the roof meets a pole plate or top plate | Pole plate flashings |
| OG curved flashing | Traditional curved profile | OG curved flashings |
| Curved barrel vault barge | Curved gable ends | Curved barrel vault barge |
For penetrations that cannot be flashed with sheet metal, we also stock formable and moulded solutions: Fast Flash, Rapid Flash and Dektite for pipe penetrations.
Custom Flashings From Your Drawing
Most jobs above a certain size need at least one piece that is not on the list. Parapet returns on a heritage facade, a box gutter transition into an existing wall, or an awkward valley junction on a knock-down rebuild.
Send us the section. Our in-house CAD team will draw it up, confirm the girth and the break positions with you, and it goes on the brake once you sign off. Custom profiles up to 8 metres in length and 4mm in thickness can be manufactured to suit project requirements.
Where a flashing needs more than folding, we also run laser cutting , welding , custom fabrication and powder coating under the same roof, so a fabricated part does not have to be shipped between three suppliers to get finished.
Materials, Not Just Colorbond
Colorbond is what most Sydney jobs ask for, and it is what we hold the most coil in. It is not the only option.
- Colorbond steel in a broad range of colours
- Zincalume steel for unpainted and industrial finishes
- Galvabond
- Aluminium where weight or coastal exposure rules out steel
- Stainless steel for severe marine and commercial work
- KME copper and VM Zinc for architectural and heritage work
The important rule is compatibility. Mixing metals across a junction, or using the wrong fixing against a substrate, sets up galvanic corrosion that will show at the flashing long before it shows anywhere else.
If you are flashing a copper roof, the flashing, the fixings and the fasteners all need to be compatible with copper. Ask us if you are not sure. We would rather answer the question than replace the flashing.
Three Things That Decide Whether a Flashing Works
Girth Before Colour
Roofers ring up with a colour and a length and no girth. Girth is the flat width of the sheet before it is folded, and it is the number that determines whether the flashing covers the junction or lands two centimetres short. Measure the full developed width, including every leg and turn-up.
Upstands and Turn-Ups Matter More Than Laps
A flashing that laps beautifully but has a 15mm upstand against a wall will still let water in under wind pressure. Design the upstand for the exposure of the elevation, not for the easiest fold.
Order the Set Together
Flashings from the same coil batch match. Flashings ordered a month apart may not, particularly on the darker Colorbond colours. If the job needs barge, ridge and apron, order them at once.
Installation of metal roof and wall cladding flashings in Australia is covered by AS 1562.1 and the relevant NCC provisions. Confirm the current edition and the wind classification for your site before you finalise fixing centres and lap dimensions.
FAQs
What are roof flashings used for?
Flashings provide a waterproof barrier for roof joints and intersections. They prevent moisture from entering at roof-wall junctions and penetrations, protecting the structure from leaks and structural rot.
What types of flashings do you supply?
A comprehensive range of profiles is available, including apron flashings, barge capping, corner flashings, curved barrel vault barge, foot moulds, OG curved flashings, parapet capping, pole plate flashings and ridge flashings.
Can you make custom flashings to my specifications?
Yes. Custom profiles up to 8 metres in length and 4mm in thickness can be manufactured based on exact project drawings and bespoke geometries.
What materials and finishes are available?
Options include the full Colorbond® range, Zincalume, Galvabond, aluminium, stainless steel, copper and VM Zinc.
Do you supply flashings for commercial and residential projects?
