The Dam Buster system relies on a continuous, gravity-fed flow to manage heavy rainfall efficiently. The process begins inside the box gutter, where water flows toward the discharge point.
If the layout includes corners or obstructions, Elbows and Junctions alter the flow path upstream without restricting capacity. As water reaches the end of the gutter, it enters a Free Flow Sump or a Side Outlet, which funnels the water externally.
Finally, the water enters the rain head. If the downpipe blocks during a severe storm, the rain head’s internal weir and unique overflow chute activate. This mechanism forces water out the front of the unit, completely isolating the building interior from potential flood damage.
Dam Buster rain heads feature a patented internal overflow weir set 25mm below the box gutter sole. This guarantees water safely discharges outside, whereas standard units frequently fail and cause internal flooding during heavy storms.
Yes. Every component is independently tested and certified to meet the NCC and AS/NZS3500.3:2021 standards for 1-in-100-year storm events.
No. Dam Buster products are selected based on the required flow rate (litres/second). This eliminates complex calculations and removes the guesswork from installation.
Absolutely. Because they do not require internal pipework or large bulkheads, Dam Buster side outlets and sumps are ideal for fixing existing, non-compliant box gutters without major structural changes.
